Plan B - Lost My Way

We're liking the new sound Plan B has adopted, much better than the 'Strickland Banks' days. Following on from his hard-hitting first release of off upcoming album, both entitled 'Ill Mannors' ("Oiii, I said Oi! What you looking at you likkle rich boy?") Plan B comes back with another BANGER in the shape of 'Lost My Way'.

"Lost my way, fell down a hole, no-ones gonna call and save my soul"
"These kids have got no hope, walking around their estates thinking this is it, they never getting out and its no joke"

Like 'Ill Mannors' its a dark track examining the downfalls of our society. With a mixture of genres intertwined Plan B is back to what he does best. If all of this is not enough, Plan B has also written and directed a feature length film (also entitled 'Ill Mannors') to coincide with his album. From the look of the trailer it has a 'Harry Brown' feel to it (if you haven't seen that movie go and watch it NOW!). You've got to respect this guys talent and craft.

Sikes - Reality

Jheeze, the boy got bars! Sikes goes innn with a seamless machine gun flow (reminiscent of Devlin) for Fly By Nature TV.

Sikes is definitely one to watch.

GRIMEY REFIX: Mark Asari - Stay Schemin'

'Ere at Cor' Grimey we've heard a whole load of 'Stay Schemin' covers; some overly grimey, some alright and some just downright wrong. Mark Asari's version falls into the 'overly grimey' section. The singer/song-writer has already put his grimeyy touch on tracks such as 'Oliver Twist' and Alicia Keys 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' and featured on PW's 'On My Way'. End of the day, Mark Asari is a singer to watch.

Jermaine Riley feat. Cherri V - Peaceful Day

Imagine if Ciara and Pleasure P collaborated on a track. Now imagine if they were British. Well that's exactly what you're getting with Jermaine Riley and Cherri V's 'Peaceful Day'. Jermaine comes with that real smooth R'n'B tone and shows the U.S we can do R'n'B too! As usual Cherri V's vocals are on point. All we can say is this is a smooth, mellow R'n'B track. Big up British R'n'B!

K Koke feat. Lilas Lafleur - Take My Breath

The UK rap scene's Messiah is back yet again with another deep, dark track looking at the harder times in life. This time the Roc Nation artist gets the soulful French (British Based) singer Lilas Lafleur on the song to lay some light vocals down. Like most of his other recently released video's, 'Take My Breath' is off 'Pure Koke Volume 2' so its not a brand new offering from Koke but we can listen to Koke's old stuff all day so its cool. Also, can we just say the workrate since Koke got out of pen is ALORT!

Rival - Headshot Season

Rival brings that grimeyy, raw sound back with 'Headshot Season'. The track is also out on iTunes, so support Grime and spare 79p to the cause.

Buy 'Headshot Season' from Itunes

Krept & Konan - I Play Dirty

Krept & Konan are on FIYAAHHH! Normally with a beat as sick as this, the instrumental is the reason people listen to the track. But not with Krept & Konan.  As usual both artists clever wordplay are on point.

"They say this when they see me er/ You look FIT everytime I SEIZURE [see's ya]"
"So much JEWS [juice] I need a SYNAGOGUE"
"Cos even VEGETARIANS wanna MEAT [meet] her"
"You wanna be the ONE but you're not the FIRST"

Need we say more?

Kozzie feat. Merky Ace - Yeah Remix

Jheeze! Merky Ace jumps on the remix of Kozzie's overly grimeyy 'Yeah' and thoroughly mashes the beat up. We love the energy both the artists bring to the aggressive grime beat. Can Kozzie do anything wrong when it comes to grime?

GTsolo - Sound Of Grime

When we first heard GTsolo dropped a track called 'Sound Of Grime' we knew it would be overly grimeyyy. And we weren't wrong. We love the transition from Grime into a more Garage beat halfway through the track. Mostly know for the infamous 'BB is Dead' GTsolo shows he aint one of them 'one hard track' MC's with 'Sound Of Grime.

Cotti - Go To Frank

Having been more involved in the Dubstep scene for the majority of his music career, we hadn't heard of Cotti before 'Go To Frank'. Shoutout to the production on this track, one word: 'aarrdddd! If like us you're  feeling the track/ into dubstep check out his 2009 track 'I Don't Give A Dub' its sure to give you dubsteppers a eargasm!

DDark - Banging It

Jheeze! DDark does it again! Going inn with his aggressive, playful bars DDark completely kills it with 'Banging It' If you haven't already, you NEED to download his mixtape 'M.O.T' (Menace On Tracks). Download link below.

While We Was Away #3: SB.TV's 'arrddd F64s

While we 'ere at Cor' Grimey were away SB.TV dropped some 'ardd F64's from a few artists (sick work rate) from the past month. Here's a few of our favorite F64's we've seen.

Mikill Pane went inn with his own F64 and highlights his uniqueness and originality in the UK rap scene by spitting over a rock and roll instrumental. The Hackney based MC's sick flow and intelligent lyrics makes this an 'ardd spitting session for SB.TV.

Blade Brown also went inn with his second F64 for SB.TV after two years the South London artist has shown that he still goes as hard as ever with his personal and truth written lyrics that defo shows what true grime's about "and I don't know about snapbacks and chinos, I know about bagpacks and kilos".

While We Was Away #2: Mynature - It's Crazy

King of the Grimey Refix Mynature dropped another 'ardd original track with 'It's Crazy' last month for his upcoming album "It's My Nature". The personal track highlights Mynature's sick lyricism that only shows his talent as an artist. Though the new original track is defo worth a mention, the news we're excited about is the release of his forthcoming album which we 'ere at Cor' Grimey know is going to be a BANGER!

No Lay - Drugs [Acoustic]

Is it just us or does No Lay's voice really suit an acoustic backdrop? Well she's done it again, this time with a live, acoustic version of 'Drugs' (off her EP 'He Said She Said I Am Bad) for 1Take TV. Although we loved the Ms. Dynamite-tehee laced original, we gotta say the guitar gives it a whole new feel. After hearing this we're calling for more acoustic grime!

While We Was Away #1: SB.TV 100 Million Views - Boy Better Know Cypher

So as you may we 'ere at Cor' Grimey have missed out on quite a few BANGERS in the grime scene and we here just want to highlight the major grimeyy going on's that occurred in the past month. One major video that came out last month SB.TV reaching 100 million views on YouTube and we 'ere at Cor' Grimey like to congratulate them on such a great achievement, and what better way to celebrate with a BBK Cypher with Skepta, JME, Jammer, Frisco, Solo 45 and Shorty.

Boy Better Know have shown to be lyrical collective not to be reckoned with and this celebratory cypher proves just that with a series of 'ardd bars. Every artist goes in especially Solo 45 who makes his return to the scene and Shorty with sickk lyrics "Nuff man want to talk about straps but they can't kill a locus". Overall this is a great cypher and a great cornerstone for SB.TV's recent achievement.

Mz Bratt feat. Khalaeliah - Falling Down [Acoustic]

Although we liked the original, the acoustic version of Bratt's 'Falling Down' adds a new depth to the song. Upcoming singer Khalaeliah shines through, proving she can sing as good as, if not, better live while Bratt delivers her bars perfectly. A winning combination of Bratts lyracism, Khalaeliah's vocals and a guitar.

E.B.R.U feat. Durrty Goodz - MAD

'Ere at Cor' Grimey we believe there's two things that make a video a must watch:

1) If its been uploaded by Soul Culture
2) If it features Durrty Goodz

Well say hello to the video that ticks both these boxes. We're not gonna lie, we only really watched MAD for Durrty Goodz, but after one play we put it on repeat for E.B.R.U! With that old school vibe that makes you wanna put on a tuxedo and start bopping and finger snapping, (don't judge us please) this could be the UK equivelent of Janelle Monae and Big Boi's "Tightrope".

Russo feat. Rodney P - Old School

When we first started Cor' Grimey one of the first artists we featured was Russo. We told you she was one to watch, and as usual we weren't lying. On 'Old School' she is joined by none other than UK hip-hop legend Rodney P.

"Tonight we take it back, gotta get it back on track"

And by the sound of this, Russo is definitely 'getting it back on track', All you singers striving for creativity, take a look at Russo.

Foreign Beggars feat. Donaeo - Flying To Mars

*P Money voice* BASS BASS BASS! When Donaeo puts his voice on the right track its a BANGER! The laidback vocals of Donaeo accentuate the dubstep track perfectly. We think this could be a good career move, stick with dubstep Donaeo.

Etta Bond - Every Dream

'Ere at Cor' Grimey we loves us abit of Etta Bond; from her dubstep laced anthem 'Ask Me To Stay' to her torturous solo version of 'Forgiveness; this girl has been making some big movements in the scene. The 'aarrddd surreal and abstract instrumental moulds Etta's soulful notes to create an outlandish, powerful track. What more can we say? Ms. Bond is on fiyaaahhhh!

Realmz - Rap Freestyle [RD Vision]

'Ere at Cor' Grimey we like a rapper that spits about more then 'yatts' and getting 'waved' (we still get gassed off them kinda bars though) and thats exactly why we're feeling Realmz freestyle for RD Vision.

"All aboard the love train, I'll help your cause when the bloods stained"

"Believe that we've raised the stats, its emosh but the pain on tracks is aimed with facts, much grace intact when we're raping tracks"

This is a big step up from his other freestyle for RD Vision and his S-Star freestyle. Realmz is making movements. Big up.

Trilla - Plenty More

Jheeze! When Trilla feels to let everyone know everyone he's around, EVERYONE KNOWS. 'Plenty More' is also on iTunes, so how about you support the grime cause and give 79p (nothing to a baller like yourself) of your money and have this 'aardd track on your iTunes.

Buy 'Plenty More' from iTunes

Ash IV - Like That

You know them ones where you click on a video from a Youtube comment? Well thats exactly how we found Ash IV's 'Like That'. Ash has been putting in the work in promoting his track, commenting on practically every grime video in sight, and its payed off- he has over 3,000 views in the first few days of being posted. With a seamless flow and some good wordplay, we'll be coming back every Thursday to set what else Ash IV can deliver.

Karmah - Grime & Rap Freestyle [RD Vision]

Jheeze! Girl got bars and flow for yeeaarrssss.

"Bitches in the game, King Henry, I behead them all/ Fighting for the fame, now they're turning bisexual"

Grimeyy TV: Chiptube Season 2 Ep. 4 [Back In Da Bits]

Well since we've been away we've not been able to keep you up to date with all the Grimeyy TV tings occuring, so here we gooo.....

Chipmunk's 'Chiptube' has been a big Youtube success ever since its creation in 2009 (the episodes have over 345,000 views and counting). The Tottenham born rapper again takes us on a behind-the-scenes peek of his ghetto fabulous lifestyle with Episode 4 of the Second series eloquently titled 'Back In Da Bits'. With cameos from Charlie Sloth (we love his gass talk at the start of the episode), Stylo G (Call Mi A Yardie), Myndless Behavious, Connor Maynard (remember his cover of Marvins Room?), Rita Ora, and last but not least Max from Choice FM, this is an episode not to be missed!

Nevamis & Durty J - Tattooz and Tequila

Jheeze! Nevamis and Durty J join forces on the overly ‘aardd ‘Tattoos & Tequila’. The two London MC’s make for a BIG  collaboration. The production side of the track is on point, the dirrttyy bass is complimented by Nevamis and Durty J’s lyricism. This is a track we’d love to hear drop in a club, it would definitely get everyone skanking!

GRIMEY REFIX: Yinks Alaka - Slight Work

Having already spit over Common’s ‘Go’ beat with Mence, Yinks Alaka comes back with yet another grimey refix; this time working the ‘Slight work’ beat  from Wale and Big Sean. Although we haven’t heard much from Yinks we appreciate his grimey take on ‘Slight Work’ and will be looking forward to what he will do in the future.

Purple Ferdinand - Beautiful Anomaly

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemandem, Cor’ Grimey is back! And we can’t wait to catch you up on all the latest grimey going-ons. So, to kick it all off we thought we’d bring you something a bit different…

London songstress Purple Ferdinand has been making herself known in Youtube and Tumblr land for a while now with covers of India Arie’s ‘The Truth’ and Bob Marley’s ‘Jammin’ (be sure to check them out!). Her newest track ‘Beautiful Anomaly’ has a stripped down, soulful vibe, with Ferdinand’s voice being accentuated by the (barely there) acoustic backdrop. From the visuals (Ferdinand got SHWAG) to the beautiful simplicity, we love everything about ‘Beautiful Anomaly’.
